The Captain Mason Program co-chaired this family-fun Veteran event providing Veterans & their families an opportunity to have a fun afternoon staying warm, at the WMC, with DJ Joe, testing their hunting skills with the DNR, participating in activities like Lego Robotics and creating “Valentine Cards for Veterans”, while having the opportunity to peruse Veteran resources!
Veteran Peers’ Mark and Peter joined with providers from all levels of care to offer resources to the community.

First Responders Resilience Event 2/29/24
Event at the War Memorial Center, hosted by the Milwaukee VA in conjunction with the WMC and the Medical College of Wisconsin’s BRAVE program.
Frost Fest Outreach Event at the War Memorial Center 2/3/24
The goal was to cure the winter blues and have some Veteran-family fun!
Over 40 organizations and Veteran-owned businesses came together for a family-friendly indoor event at the War Memorial Center!
Resources for Veterans and their families were available, DJ Joe kept the music flowing, and Juggler Bert and family entertained the audience with their show!
Kids enjoyed games and activities including the Lego Robotics table that had everyone mesmerized! The scavenger hunt and War Memorial tour by President and CEO Dan Buttery enabled guests to learn more about YOUR War Memorial Center.
Door Prizes, Kathoot it game, snacks, and a Winter Wonderland Selfie booth all contributed to an overall fun family day!
Plan to attend next years’ event in January 2025!

Kerry was presented her award by Governor Tony Evers and WDVA Secretary-designee James Bond during a special reception held at the Governor’s Residence on the evening of Thursday, November 9, 2023.
